It was late 2018 when I first came across handlettering for the very first time by a book that was handed to me. Unfortunately it didn’t last that long back then and it took me until the first Corona lockdown this year, to get back on that track. Since then I totally lose myself in handlettering and contineously search for the next challenge and technique.

My style is not a very typical and pure handlettering – it’s more of a mix between drawing, lettering and something totally experimental. Even talking about the products and material I am using, everything is possible within a single art work. I just don’t like to commit myself to much in a single direction.

Pretty often I got asked where I do find the ideas for the art works I am creating. I usually try to explain it as follows: it’s all based on a gut feeling. When I start lettering something, there is already a tiny little story within that word or sentence. A cup of crazyness is a common part of being creative and probably this is something I can pass on to you as well.
